Health Department
The mission of the Health Department is to ensure the provision of preventative health services, health education and environmental health services to the people of Mercer County at the lowest possible cost either by the provision of these services ourselves or working in collaboration with other providers.

Community Programs |
|
Qualified health department staff are available to provide community programming to interested groups on a variety of health topics. Click on the grey Community Programs button to the left for a complete list of available programs.

Environmental Services |
|
Environmental staff conduct routine inspections of all food service establishments in Mercer County, including but not limited to restaurants, cafeterias, retail groceries, convenience stores, bed-and-breakfasts, concession/food booths, as prescribed by state guidelines. The environmental staff also provides food service manager training to assure that food handlers have the skills ansd knowledge to produce the safest possible food products to the public. Staff can also review plans for new and rennovated food service facilities.
The staff investigates complaints from the public on the above food outlets.

The Mercer County Health Department, along with all of Kentucky's health departments, are working to insure that every county is prepared to respond to both natural and man-made disasters.
