Elected Officials

Local Elected Officials

Local elected officials are the people the citizens see on a regular basis. To the left you will find pages for each of the county elected officials. The County Judge Executive and the Magistrates are listed under the Fiscal Court page above.

State & Federal Elected Officials

State Representative Kim King represents the 55th district and resides in Harrodsburg, KY. The 55th district is comprised of Anderson, Mercer and Spencer Counties.

State Senator Jimmy Higdon represents the 14th district and resides in Lebanon, KY. The 14th district is comprised of Marion, Mercer, Nelson, Taylor, and Washington counties.

Senator Rand Paul was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., January 7, 1963; attended Baylor University, 1981-1984; graduated Duke University, M.D., 1988; ophthalmologist; elected as a Republican to the United States Senate for the term ending January 3, 2017.

US Senator Mitch McConnell is a long time senator first elected in 1984. He along with Senator Jim Bunning work to serve the best interests of Kentucky.

Congressman Ben Chandler was first elected to the US House of Representatives in a special election in February of 2004 and subsequently won a full two year term in November 2004. He represents the 6th congressional district (central Kentucky).

 

Bit of History
 

Harrodsburg was the first town in KY, founded by James Harrod in 1774, then known as Harrodstown.
