Judge Executive

     The Judge Executive is specifically charged with the execution of all ordinances and resolutions of the fiscal court, all contacts entered into by the fiscal court and all state laws subject to enforcement by the Judge Executive or by officers under his supervision. The Judge Executive is empowered to exercise all executive powers pursuant to the "home rule" statue.

     The Judge Executive has been assigned the primary responsibility for the administration of county government. Accordingly, the Judge Executive has the authority to create, abolish, or combine any county department or agency or the Judge Executive my transfer functions from one agency or department to another.

     Only by approval of the fiscal court can the Judge Executive combine or abolish any special district if the district was created solely by the County Judge Executive or by the Fiscal Court. Also the Judge Executive is responsible for keeping the fiscal court informed of the operations of county departments and boards and commissions.
